AUDI AG has chosen GAW technologies, due to the expiry of one model / the integration of new model lines, to implement the modification of materials handling units in the production of the Audi RS 6 in the Neckarsulm plant (about 6 kilometers north of Heilbronn). The Audi RS 6 is the most powerful Audi model, the first generation was introduced to the market in 2002.
The existing conveyor system is mainly transporting the parts (doors, hatches) of the new vehicle models from the manufacturing plants to the gelling oven and afterward provides the doors for installation in the automatic door attachment (ATA). In future, the door installation will be carried out for a number of vehicle models at the ATA. The integration of the new model series requires extensions and adaptations of the materials handling, logistics and system control. The project implementation has a tight schedule and will be completed until the second week of 2012.
Audi is once again counting on the expertise of the industrial plant construction company from Graz in the materials handling technology and GAW is proud to continue and strengthen this long-term partnership with Audi.
