The start up is scheduled for end of 2011. At this project the installation and mounting is a special challenge due to the limited space and the architecture of the plant, highest demands have to be met by the engineering and designing team.
The location in Alfeld (south of Hannover) has a long tradition in papermaking: Primarily the papermill of Family Spies was built in 1706. In 1992 the Hannoversche Papierfabriken Alfeld-Gronau AG was integrated in to the worldwide operative Sappi Group (South African Pulp and Paper Industries) and changed its name to Sappi Alfeld in 1998. Alfeld is one of the three Sappi manufacturing plants in Germany - grafic papers, speciality papers and pulp are produced by approximately 1000 employees.
